Moon on Fire was a variety show series I created, produced, and hosted from 2020 to 2021. The concept was to center a cabaret-style performance around every full moon, featuring performing artists, musicians, writers, poets, and others, and frame the acts as offerings for the new month. After greeting the audience at the show’s opening, I would lead the audience through an opening ceremony to honor the moon, the four directions, and the elements. After the slated performers the show would open up as an open mic and invite members of the audience to come up and offer poems, songs, stories, and more. At the close, I would lead the audience in a closing ceremony to thank the moon for its presence and guidance.
