Ella the Clown

Hello world!

I am a clown.

Here we go!

Hi there! Howdy! Hellooo! Did I already say my name’s Ella? I’m Ella. It's nice to meet you, at least I think I’m meeting you—is this thing on? Anyway, here you are seeing my own little corner of the internet! I’m so happy you’re here with me.

What can I tell you about me? Let’s see. Well, I was born in Chicago, from inside Danielle’s brain during a clown class with Jeremy Aluma in 2019. Danielle and I became fast friends and she wanted to show the world what I could do! I’ve been so lucky to get to play on many stages in Chicago, like Theatre Wit, Annoyance Theatre, Newport Theater, Under the Gun, and so many more. I’ve gotten a lot done for a two-year-old.

I have this page here so I can show you photos and videos of me having the best time ever. I hope you like them and that they make you feel happy. I have even more media at my other corner of the internet, here! It’s my Instagram that I share that with Baba Yana (Have you met her yet?); we post about our upcoming shows there, too.

Welcome! Hi there! Did I already say this? Do you remember my name? Is it Ella? Yes. Hi, I’m Ella.

Ella on Film

Set to Jesus Christ Superstar's "Pilate and Christ", Clown 1 (Pilate) is a child, being babysat by Clown 2 (Jesus). In trying to convince Clown 1 to behave during this babysitting night, Clown 2 tries to coax Clown 1 to behave. Clown 2 loses Clown 1, and has to chase Clown 1 around the house and outdoors to attempt to get them into cooperating.

This was originally performed in The Conspirators' 2021 Jesus Christ Superstar Do It Yourself Messiah Complex, an evening of variety and sing-along in love and adoration of the 1970 album version of the Tim Rice/Andrew Lloyd Webber rock opera on April 4, 2021 via Facebook Live.

Ella the Clown is mourning the loss of her dear friend, Halloween. To comfort herself, she goes out into the neighborhood to judge the winter holiday directions. This was originally presented during Ghostlight Ensemble's 3rd Annual (and first virtual!) Holiday Cabernet on December 12, 2020.

Jump For Our Love

Clowns having a threesome: what could possibly go wrong? Two clowns are swingers, getting ready for their new playmate to show up. They do this a lot; invite someone over to join them for a night of queer, poly, amorous fun. The third clown shows up, but their intentions are not so pure. They do this a lot, too, but with a twist; they join couples for evening romps only to attempt to kill them at the end. What ends up occurring goes against everyone's plans and expectations... Join The Interns and Ella the Clown for a bloody good time.

This video was originally performed at the Lincoln Loft with The Interns (Meaghan Morris, Evan Richter) for “This Is Not A Show” on October 11, 2019.
